Modification have been normally made to have the final result as much as possible closer to the real aircraft design. 1:720 scale USS Nimitz and Carrier Air Wing eight (CVW-8) 1979-1980 This nuclear powered aircraft carrier was duty with the 6th fleet during the late 70's through the late 80's. This model represent the ship and relevant Carrier Air Wing as shown in the movie "The final countdown" 1979 In this view it is visible the elevator number three with an E-2C Hawkeye of VAW-112 "Golden Hawks". On the flight deck the F-14A's Tomcat of the VF-84 "Jolly Rogers" and VF-41 "Black Aces". Note that a couple of F-14 from VF-41 shown the very first low visibility scheme. In this image the island and the air search radar are visible, on the flight deck there are an SH-3H of HS-9 "Sea Griffins", an Hawkeye, a Tomcat, the A-7E's Corsair II of VA-86 "Sidewinders" and VA-82 "Marauders" as well as a couple of A-6E Intruder of VA-35 "Black Panthers" and two EA-6B Prowler of VAQ-135 "Black Ravens". Note the emergency truck-crane located between the island and the radar. In this images the elevators number one and two are visible, in the hangar there are an F-4N Phantom II, an A-7E Corsair II with Naval Air Test Center marking an A-6E Intruder and a RF-8G Crusader of VFP-63 "Eyes of the fleet". In this view the A-6E's Intruder of VA-35 the EA-6B Prowler of VAQ-135 and the A-7E's Corsair II of VA-82 are clearly visible. Note the fire truck and the men walking on flight deck.
